KidsRStrong2 is committed to not only raising awareness about various life-threatening conditions that impact children, and securing research funds, but we are also committed to ensuring that funds are allocated for scholarships for survivors.
The KidsRStrong2 scholarship program was named in honor of Mikayla Quindoy, who at the young age of 7 gained her angel wings in December of 2015, after nearly a yearlong battle with a rare form of brain cancer, DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). To honor Mikayla's memory and legacy, the Quindoy family has partnered with KidsRStrong2 to support survivors by providing scholarships for post-secondary education, as well as various educational learning opportunities for young children.

Mikayla was a sweet young girl, who during her short time here on earth, touched the hearts and lives many. She was a true "girlie, girl" who loved school, reading, science and anything pink. She excelled at reading at a young age, and was identified as a gifted and talented student. Her love for learning, and an overall focus on ensuring that her legacy lives on, sparked KRS2 to want to name the KidsRStrong2 scholarship program in Mikayla's honor. At KRS2 we are both honored and proud to carry on a piece of Mikayla's legacy, and are thankful to her parents for allowing us to honor her in this way. She will forever be missed, loved, and remembered by many!
