Cancer patients in Houston are up for a real treat when KidsRStrong2 (KRS2), along with Chloe Cook Events, bring a spring party to The University of Texas MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital. The event will take place Thurs., April 13 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The KRS2 Spring Egg Hunt celebration will include an array of activities for patients being treated at the hospital, and their families. Participants will have the opportunity to pose for family portraits, create arts and crafts with volunteers, engage with other patients, and search for eggs; many of which were donated by local food chain Jimmy Changas.
“We are always extremely happy to serve our local children who are fighting for their lives daily, and this is just one more way that we are able to do so,” said Tomika Gamble, founder and president of KidsRStrong2.
Photos of the event will be taken by well known Houston based celebrity photographer, Pharris Photography, who graciously agreed to give back in this manner.
“It’s a pleasure and blessing to be able to provide these families with the best keepsake that they can have. Photos are so important. People, moments and feelings are temporary, but photos last forever,” said Joshua Farris, owner and photographer at Pharris Photography.
In addition, Chloe Cook Events has agreed to provide event-planning services for the celebration; while H-E-B is joining in on the fun by donating funds for lunch and other party essentials.
“We are truly thankful for our community partners,” said Gamble. We could not do the work that we do without their support and trust in our organization.”
Gamble says the Spring Egg Hunt is a great opportunity for families to strengthen their bond during the midst of what is probably the biggest trial in their life, and have a little fun while doing so.
